Duke donates $50,000 for N.C. NanoMed
Abstract:
Duke Energy will donate $50,000 to the N.C. NanoMed Institute, which is planned as a new nonprofit organization based in the Triad to help nanotech companies navigate regulatory rules.
Duke Energy Business Relations Manager Jimmy Flythe presented the donation to the Winston-Salem Chamber of Commerce Technology Council Thursday morning. He said life sciences are a focus area for Duke Energy's economic development team.
"We agree with other area leaders that the N.C. NanoMEd Institute will be a catalyst for attracting life sciences companies to the Piedmont Triad," Flythe said. "We encourage others to join us in investing in this important project."
