Tech manufacturer to expand
Abstract:
Ambios Technology, a small manufacturer of surface measurement systems in the Harvey West area, is getting bigger.
The company, founded in 1996, has signed an agreement to double its space at 100 Pioneer St., where it's been located for almost four years.
Patrick O'Hara, 45, president and chief executive officer, declined to say how much square footage the privately held company occupies but said revenue has grown steadily by more than 20 percent a year.
Increased spending in government, academic and industrial research in nanotechnology has led to increased revenue, he said.
The company's measuring systems include the stylus profilometer, atomic force microscopes and scanning white light interferometers, devices used in the semiconductor industry. Its product line expanded in 2006 with the acquisition of Quesant Instrument.
