Turkish Researchers' Achievement In Tissue Engineering

Abstract:
Turkish researchers at the Hacettepe University have made a significant achievement by adding nano-structures to polymers, a kind of plastic used in manufacturing of artificial tissues.

In an exclusive interview with the A.A, Prof. Dr. Olgun Guven of the Hacettepe University Department of Chemistry, said, "we have founded the first irradiation facility of Turkey. This technology enables us to make many chemical changes in or on the surface of plastic materials. Now, we are working to adapt irradiation technology to nanotechnology."
