Abstract:
Retail Technology Leader to Join Five Affiliate Fujitsu Companies
Fujitsu Transaction Solutions Inc., a leading global technology solutions provider to specialty and grocery retailers, will relocate its North American headquarters to the Fujitsu campus in Richardson, Texas.
About 300 Fujitsu employees will begin moving to the master-planned campus during May, with all employees expected to occupy approximately 90,000 total sq. ft. at 2791 Telecom Parkway by June 2. Fujitsu Transaction Solutions will join five other affiliate Fujitsu companies on the campus.
Fujitsu Transaction Solutions' headquarters functions include executive management, marketing and sales, finance, human resources, legal, managed services, logistics, planning and purchasing, project management and The Pervasive Retailing Center, where customers visit for briefings and demonstrations of the company's technology, products and services.
"As our lease expired in Frisco, Texas, joining our affiliate companies on the Richardson campus made great business sense," said Ed Soladay, chief operating officer of Fujitsu Transaction Solutions. "This strategic location - in the heart of Richardson's Telecom Corridor - offers all the right ingredients for continued success - a world-class University nearby, a concentration of high technology workers, lifestyle amenities and the synergies and efficiencies we can create for common prospects and customers of multiple Fujitsu affiliates."
"We are excited to welcome Fujitsu Transaction Solutions to Richardson and to add another Fujitsu affiliate to the company's Richardson campus," said Steve Mitchell, Mayor of Richardson. "The addition of Fujitsu Transaction Solutions is emblematic of Richardson's continued emphasis on diversification within the technology industry, so the Telecom Corridor today is home to leading companies not only in telecommunications, but also in the wireless, RFID, semiconductor, software and nanotechnology sectors."
Following the move, Fujitsu will become the eighth-largest employer in Richardson, with about 1,500 employees on the campus. The location encompasses more than 100 acres and includes an on-site employee cafeteria, fitness center, manufacturing and R&D facilities, a centralized data center, global call center, and engineering and administration.
Richardson is home to the Telecom Corridor®, which is known as the high-technology center of North Texas and the Dallas-Ft.Worth Metroplex. More than 5,700 businesses, including 600-plus technology firms, operate within the city's 28.2 square miles.
