Nanohealth consortium in line for federal funding
Abstract:
The Alliance for NanoHealth, a consortium made up of seven Houston-area research institutions, is slated to receive $2.2 million in new federal funding.
The funding was included in a spending package that passed the U.S. Senate last week and received concurrence from the U.S. House of Representatives. The spending bill is now before the President to be signed into law.
U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison and U.S. Rep. John Culberson announced the Fiscal Year 2008 appropriations.
"Texas is a leader in the fast-growing field of nanotechnology," said Hutchison, R-Texas, who is a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee.
