Evgeny Katz, the Milton Kerker Chaired Professor of Colloid Science at Clarkson University, and his coauthors have the two most accessed articles for the past year, December 2006 to November 2007, in the leading journal ChemPhysChem.

Katz coauthored "Nanoparticle Arrays on Surfaces for Electronic, Optical, and Sensor Applications," which was also the most cited article published in ChemPhysChem, with Andrew N. Shipway and Itamar Willner. He wrote "Biomolecule-Functionalized Carbon Nanotubes: Applications in Nanobioelectronics" with Willner.

The papers are comprehensive reviews of the hot research topic related to molecular-functionalized nanoparticles and their applications for molecular electronics and sensors.

Katz has held the Milton Kerker chair since he came to Clarkson in 2006. Previously he was a research associate professor at Hebrew University of Jerusalem and a senior research scientist at the Russian Academy of Sciences. His research interests include biocomputing, biofunctionalized nanomaterials, bionanoengineering, bionanology for bioelectric applications and biosensors.
