Ga. Tech Prez on the Home Stretch
Abstract:
Biology may not be one of them. But bioinformatics, using math and artificial intelligence to solve biological problems, could be. And cancer care will likely not be one of them either. But integrating nanotechnology, the science of manipulating matter at the atomic level, into cancer care is definitely where Georgia Tech wants to be. In 2005, Georgia Tech and Emory University received $19 million from the National Cancer Institute to do just that. And the university is building a $90 million nanotechnology center, due to be complete by late 2008.
