TU researchers think small, see big
Abstract:
University of Tulsa professor Dale Teeters' research is aimed at producing very, very small batteries, which some day could make a big, big difference.
It is called nanotechnology, which is cutting-edge research to produce exotically small devices.
"We're getting to the nanoscale, where we're able to make things at the same precision of bridges and other things on a larger scale," said Teeters, who along with two former TU students patented the nanobattery in 2003.
These nanobatteries are so small that 2 billion of them fit on a circular nano-porous membrane, which is just smaller than a dime and thinner than a human hair.
