Abstract:
AlwaysReady, Inc., a 100% wholly owned subsidiary of mPhase Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB: XDSL), will be presenting and exhibiting as a Silver Corporate Sponsor at NASA Tech Briefs National Nanotech Engineering Conference (NNEC) ( http://nasatech.com/nano/index.html ) to be held November 14-15 in Boston at the Marriott Copley Place. NNEC is the premier event focused on current and future developments in engineering innovations at the nanoscale, as well as the commercialization of nanotechnology. mPhase Technologies was a 2005 NASA Tech Briefs Nano 50 award winner for its work in a Smart Nanobattery.
The AlwaysReady presentation, titled "Novel Lithium-Based Reserved Micro Power Cell-Based on Micro Fluidic Design" will focus on advancements made to our smart nanobattery design which permit it to work with lithium-based chemistries and organic electrolytes. These improvements will provide higher voltages per cell than the first generation zinc manganese dioxide prototype that AlwaysReady previously developed. The move to a lithium-based electrolyte marks a significant technical milestone in the commercialization path of our smart nanobattery.
The AlwaysReady smart nanobattery architecture enables long shelf life, remote activation, scalable manufacturing, multiple configurations, and programmable power management capabilities. Initial applications for nano power cells may address the need to supply emergency and reserve power "on command" to a broad range of products for the defense department, with future applications in the commercial and consumer arenas.
