Home > Press > New Partnership: Nano-oriented but not Nano-sized
Abstract:
The Aker Partners—one of the first firms to address the communications challenges facing the nanotechnology sector—has joined forces with one of nanotech's preeminent scientific consultants to offer an unprecedented array of communications, risk management, and public affairs services.
Aker is teaming up with NanoReg, a professional services firm founded by John DiLoreto, a career chemical engineer who created and directed the American Chemistry Council's Nanotechnology Panel; and publishes one of the industry's top sources for nanotechnology news (NanoReg News.)
"Blending the Aker team's combined experience of nearly 100 years in media outreach, direct communication and marketing with John's background in the chemical industry creates a powerful new ‘compound'—one that can benefit companies that both produce and use nanotechnology," said Colburn Aker, managing partner of The Aker Partners.
"Our partnership will help nanotech companies monitor, address and resolve the growing environmental, health and safety issues concerning nano-engineered products," DiLoreto said. "It would be a tremendous loss to our society's future if misconceptions about nanotechnology were the basis of government standards that could limit benefits offered by this sector."
Together, the two firms will offer a range of services including reputation management; investor relations; public affairs; plus crisis and marketing communications.
