NU adds star to nanotech roster
Abstract:
Northwestern University has hired one of the world's leading experts on nanotechnology as part of a multimillion-dollar drive to become the undisputed leader in that emerging field.
Recruiting J. Fraser Stoddart and his team of 20 researchers from the University of California at Los Angeles brings another star to Northwestern's roster of big name scientists who seek advances by manipulating matter at the molecular level. The move also boosts Chicago's effort to become a center of the future's nanotech industry, much as Silicon Valley became a hotbed for the computer industry.
