Ben Sitler Named to Head Global Sales
NeoPhotonics Corporation, a leading developer of optical components for the telecommunications industry, today announced the appointment of Benjamin Sitler as Vice President of Worldwide Sales, effective immediately. In this position, Mr. Sitler will oversee a sales force with offices on four continents as well as the Company's channel and distribution partnerships.
Mr. Sitler has more than twenty years of sales and executive management experience in the telecommunications and electronics industries. He was promoted to this role after serving as the Company's Vice President for Tunable Products. This product line came to NeoPhotonics via the November 2006 acquisition of Paxera, a company Mr. Sitler co-founded and for which he served as President and Chief Executive.
Prior to starting Paxera in 2003, Mr. Sitler held the positions of Vice President of Worldwide Sales at Lightwave Microsystems and Vice President of Business Development at JCP Photonics. In addition, he spent fifteen years at Raychem Corporation, where he served in roles including Sales Manager, Product Marketing Manager, Product Line Manager, Business Development Manager and Staff Executive to the CEO.
Prior to joining Raychem, Mr. Sitler served in the U. S. Navy in the nuclear submarine force. He received a Bachelor's Degree from the U.S. Naval Academy and an M.B.A. from the Anderson School of Business at UCLA.
