Food Safety Issues Addressed at L.A.B. with Sixth Conference Stream
Abstract:
Leipziger Messe announces 'The Food Science Laboratory' track which completes the extensive conference programme at L.A.B. Launching in the UK October 2-4, 2007, the new L.A.B. trade fair and conference will showcase international manufacturers and provide industry professionals with the opportunity to discuss prevalent issues in the food and beverage industry.
The conference stream will give industry experts the chance to share knowledge on the importance of these issues, and present a wide variety of topics to an interested audience. 'The Food Science Laboratory' takes place on October 3, 2007 and speakers will include:
* John Lewis, Nanoparticle Team, Central Science Laboratory. The presentation will discuss 'Nanotechnology in the food lab' and will cover the use of nanoemulsions in food and beverages, the safety testing of food nanomaterials, product innovation and global regulatory framework.
* Mark Woolfe, Food Authenticity Branch, Food Standards Agency. Dr Woolfe will examine the use of DNA assays to enforce food labelling legislation.
* Roy Betts, Head of Microbiology, Campden and Chorleywood Food Research Association. This discussion will focus on the advances in microbiological methods for food testing.
