Anna University, NTPC sign MoU

Abstract:
Anna University - Chennai (AU-C) and NTPC Ltd are coming together and will exchange ideas and identify areas of mutual collaboration and active interaction. This MoU is the first major step in the plan of Anna University to develop a Centre of Excellence on its campus, devoted to "energy studies", said university Vice-Chancellor D Viswanathan.

This Centre will be multi-disciplinary and will involve many units of Anna University like The Institute of Energy Studies, the Centre for Crystal Growth, the newly-formed Centre for Nanoscience and Technology, the AU-FRG Institute for CAD-CAM, the departments of Physics, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Development of new materials for the next generation energy systems, the characterisation of their microstructures and properties, design of systems and products and the analysis and simulation of these systems/products will be focused on.
