The SUNY solution
Abstract:
* Develop and establish "Eco-system"-centric curriculum and degree programs. Targeted Eco-Systems can include electronic manufacturing, Internet, biotechnology and nanotechnology. These Eco-systems can also be combined to create new ones from which new curriculum and degree programs for SUNY can be fostered and grow and from which new industries will spawn. For example, combining biotech with Internet services defines/yields the new industry of bio-informatics. Another example is when biotechnology and electronics manufacturing converge to define/yield the new industry of bio-computing. Combining three Eco-Systems (biotech, electronics and nanotechnology) will yield bio-engineering, and so on.
