Korean Investors Urged To Partake In Ninth Malaysia Plan
Abstract:
In dangling what was surely a lucrative carrot given immense opportunities from the RM200 billion plan, Minister of International Trade and Industry, Datuk Seri Rafidah Aziz said the electronics and electrical (E&E) industry was one area Koreans could not ignore.
E&E, earmarked for further growth under the 9MP, was the largest contributor to rising Malaysian exports last year, accounting for US$75.9 billion or 47.7 percent of total exports, she said.
"Malaysia welcomes more Korean investments in the electronics industry especially in producing high-valued added products such as nanotechnology products, semi-conductor and electronic components," she told about 350 participants at a seminar on "Business Opportunities In Malaysia" here.
