Q&A: 'Taiwan has a lot to learn from India's diversity'
Abstract:
The democratic spirit in which education is pursued in India is fascinating. You have a lot of constraints when it comes to delivering education across the length and breadth of the country, but in areas of specialised learning India is one of the best. Taiwan has a fairly advanced educational and research infrastructure, especially in nanotechnology, biotechnology and chip design among other areas. India and Taiwan can put together new perspectives in humanities, arts and social sciences. We have envisaged regular student and faculty exchange programmes. People-to-people contact is a must and tourism is one way of promoting understanding of cultures. The Center is just the beginning of a long-standing and long lasting relationship between India and Taiwan.
