Coming to a High School Near You?
Abstract:
How long will it be before a high school chemistry class will be able to whip up the sort of substances made of very tiny particles made today by only the most advanced labs in nanotechnology?
Perhaps sooner than you imagine. After all, the gene-splicing skills that awed me when I covered them in the early days of my reporting career in the 1970's were just another lab exercise in my 17 year-old son's biology course this year. Montclair, N.J., where I live, has highly regarded schools but I suspect many of you reading this have similar stories to tell.
