Northeastern taps UPenn professor as engineering dean
Abstract:
Northeastern has recruited a professor from the University of Pennsylvania to be dean of its engineering school.
David Luzzi, an expert in nanotechnology, will head up Northeastern's first college, which has 3,000 undergraduate and graduate students.
Luzzi's discovery of the "peapod" class of nanomaterials was featured on the cover Science magazine in 2002. He also co-founded the Nanotechnology Institute, which is run by a consortium of 12 universities and research institutions in the Philadelphia area.
