Canada's most research-intensive university is embracing government's science and technology strategy

Abstract:
The Ontario government has also recognized the importance of investing in post-secondary education and research, most recently in the 2007 provincial budget. Ontario is working to support innovative research in cutting edge fields such as biomaterials and nanotechnology, while also working to expand graduate spaces and ensure greater access.

The science and technology strategy, and McMaster's success in continuing to develop an internationally respected research enterprise, will have significant impact on Hamilton's future. Over five years McMaster's research income had tripled to $345 million by 2006.
