The culture of innovation

Abstract:
This week the city of St. Catharines together with Brock University announced the launch of an incubation centre designed to bolster the region's economy with a "knowledge infusion."

Niagara College, Sheridan College in Oakville and Silicon Knights, a downtown St. Catharines computer game developer, are all part of the initiative.

Acknowledging and responding to a decline in Niagara's manufacturing base, the initiative will support the economy of the future by incubating ideas relating to interactive media, nanotechnology or miniaturization, biotechnology, renewable energy, advanced technology and the arts.
