VeruTEK Technologies' CEO Accepts Invitation to Present at International Conference on Green Chemistry

GLASTONBURY, CT | Posted on May 29th, 2007

The conference, entitled "Green Chemistry - Applications, Research, and Trends," aims to bring together experts from academia to advance knowledge, insight and activity with respect to green chemistry and its applications.

"I was delighted to receive the invitation to present on VeruTEK's breakthrough technologies in the treatment of toxic subsurface contaminants at such a prestigious conference," said Dr. John Collins, CEO of VeruTEK Technologies. "This conference and others like it are vitally important to moving the emerging field of green chemistry forward and addressing the many issues related to remediation and sustainability, and I am looking forward to participating."

Green Chemistry & Environmental Sustainability

Modern society has been built on organic chemistry. As a result, the world has experienced 200 years of dumping of petrochemicals, gasoline, diesel and chlorinated organics. Over time these toxins have seeped into the ground and affected not only the soil but also the water table creating hazardous conditions that threaten the health and well being of the general population.

This situation has given rise to new research and educational initiatives both in academia and industry to study the potential for cleaner, more sustainable chemistry - a field now known as "green chemistry." The purpose of this field is to design chemicals and chemical processes that will be less harmful to human health and the environment and contribute to environmental sustainability.

VeruTEK's solutions are derived from green chemistry and treat complex contaminants in both soil and groundwater in a completely new way that is safer, more effective, less disruptive to the community and in most cases less costly than traditional solutions.
