MCG president: MCG, SRNL join on project

Abstract:
The Medical College of Georgia and the Savannah River National Laboratory have embarked on a fantastic voyage together into nanotechnology.

Speaking at the Rotary Club of Aiken's afternoon luncheon Monday, Dr. Daniel W. Rahn, introduced by Rotary program chair Stan Jackson, outlined a project with echoes of an Isaac Asimov tale or a Saturday afternoon sci-fi flick: Scientists from MCG and SRNL are collaborating to create glass and ceramic "microspheres" to deliver site-specific treatments for diseases such as cancer.
