La. Tech awards degree to world's first nanosystems engineering graduate
Abstract:
Josh Brown was never quite sure what he would end up doing with his life, but he said everybody told him he would end up a scientist.
He was not as certain as his family and friends until Louisiana Tech University founded the nanosystems engineering degree. Then, he knew.
Brown, a 23-year-old native of West Monroe and graduate of West Ouachita High School, graduated Saturday with two degrees.
Along with earning an electrical engineering degree, Brown became the world's first nanosystems engineering degree holder, confirmed College of Engineering and Science Dean Stan Napper.
"I suppose it's some pressure," Brown said. "It's paid off a lot for me already. Life is moving so fast nowadays; every week there's a new piece of good news.
"I don't know what I'm going to do if life gets any better," he said.
