PAU VC initiates review of research programmes
Abstract:
Dr Kang highlighted that said science and technology are the drivers of change. He said it is imperative that scientists keep themselves abreast of the technological developments taking place in the world.
He asked the scientists to identify areas and explore possibilities for global partnership. Dr Kang also visited the newly-established Electron Microscopy and Nanoscience Laboratory (EMN Lab). Much impressed by the infrastructure, he remarked, "This is a landmark facility in Punjab and is as good as a laboratory in any reputed university in the United States. We should make best use of this facility".
Dean College of Agriculture Dr GS Chahal informed that PAU is the only university in Punjab to have this ultra modern facility. The university is extending this facility to scientists in other state universities, IITs, ITIs, medical and dental colleges in the state. Special training programmes for scientists as well as students are conducted to train them in the use of sophisticated equipment. A proposal to start a special post-graduate course in electron microscopy is under consideration too.
