Greens urge ban on nanomaterials in toiletries
Abstract:
The New South Wales Greens say the use of nanomaterials in some sunscreens and shampoos could become the asbestos problem of the 21st century.
Nanomaterials are minute ingredients engineered at an atomic level.
The Greens say preliminary studies indicate they could penetrate the skin and cause DNA mutation or even cell death.
