Cafe serves up huge helpings of knowledge
Abstract:
At Science Cafe meetings, the featured entree is food for thought.
Patterned after knowledge-sharing gatherings that began in Europe, Science Cafe started meeting this past summer. Chris Toumey, who works at USC's NanoCenter, suggested the idea as an outreach of the Citizens' School of Nanotechnology.
"We started the Citizens School 2½ years ago for nonexperts to come to terms with nanotechnology," Toumey said. "Then we realized that's not the only form of science outreach we need."
