State allocates $5 million to Inamori School of Engineering
Abstract:
The state allocation announced today by Young augments a $10 million gift from the Kyocera Corporation, the world's largest manufacturer of advanced ceramic materials, to Alfred University. With the income from the endowment, the University plans to hire up to four Kyocera professors as the nucleus of a new center dedicated to research in nanotechnology for photonic and biomedical applications. The $5 million in state funds will be used for facilities and equipment for the new center.
