Near-field optics could store up to 150 Gbytes
Abstract:
Philips researchers are reporting significant progress in the development of a new optical storage technology called near-field optical recording. The technology allows storage of up to 150 gigabytes of data in two layers on cheap optical media similar to today's DVDs.
