“Tomorrow’s Power Source Enabled by Carbon-Nanotubes”
Abstract:
Nanotechnology Colloquim: Fuel cells are perhaps the only technology having the potential to provide the volumetric energy densities required for advanced portable electronics. A partnership of Carbon Nanotechnologies, Inc. (CNI), Johnson Matthey Fuel Cells, Inc. (JMFCI) and Motorola Labs intend to leverage the special properties unique to single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) as a new highly-efficient carbon support for precious metal and metal alloy catalysts, developing electrode systems that dramatically improve the commercial viability of micro-fuel cells.
