Summit singles out education
Abstract:
After all the speechifying and high rhetoric was done, one message came through loud and clear at Oregon's Leadership Summit 2004 on Monday: When it comes to the economy, it's all about education.
A task force on economic innovation recommended that the state increase funding for its new nanotechnology research center by $10 million, redouble its focus on strengthening industry clusters in which Oregon has unique competencies, and establish a top-tier executive entrepreneurship program to enhance management talent.
