Discovery of molecular switch sparks a revolution
Abstract:
Julia Lock's groundbreaking research could revolutionise the medicine and food industries. The University of Adelaide student has just completed her PhD by developing a special kind of molecular switch which can be activated by light. The technology could be used by researchers to develop drugs which are turned on by light when sent into targeted areas of the body – providing a more effective and precise form of treatment.
