University Develops 12Tbyte Nano Memory
Abstract:
A memory technology that could squeeze almost 12Tbyte onto a CD-sized surface is under development in West London. Brunel University spinout company Diameter is looking for funds to develop a nano-scale memory based on shape-memory metal. If individual crystals could be switched, data storage density would be 6.5Tbit/inē, claimed Diameter. "We would settle for writing a few crystals at a time," he added.
