Nanotube-water stays more fluid
Abstract:
Researchers at Argonne National Laboratory, US, have studied water molecules confined inside an open-ended single-walled carbon nanotube. The team used neutron-scattering measurements and molecular-dynamics simulations to show that the molecules were present in the form of a wire. “Water confined in nanoscale one-dimensional channels is of great interest to biology, geology and materials science,” Alexander Kolesnikov of Argonne told nanotechweb.org.
