Big Blue says breakthrough means millipede may crawl out of lab
Abstract:
IBM says its MEMS/nanotech combo storage effort, Millipede, is creeping toward reality – this time with its first working quantum storage prototype. But while the company claims the breakthrough memory technology will make it to market in 2006 or 2007, at least one nanotechnology analyst does not recommend that you toss out your existing magnetic or optical devices anytime soon.
