DNA folds into nano-octahedra
Abstract:
Researchers at the Scripps Research Institute have synthesized a single-stranded DNA molecule that will fold up into a hollow octahedral structure roughly 22 nm in diameter under certain conditions. Unlike other DNA that forms three-dimensional objects, the molecules can be readily copied by polymerases. (more on earlier article)
