Federal bill includes $1M for superconductor program
Abstract:
Albany NanoTech at the state University at Albany announced it has secured $1 million in federal funding in an upcoming spending bill for a development project to enhance the performance of next generation high-temperature superconductors. "By building on our strengths in nanotechnology and nanoelectronics, we are expanding our portfolio to include the increasingly critical sector of power generation and transmission, with exciting applications both in homeland defense and the commercial sector," said Pradeep Haldar, director of Albany NanoTech's Energy and Environmental Technology Application Center.
