New light dawns on nanoparticle growth
Abstract:
Scientists at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in Switzerland have discovered that shining light of different colours onto growing metallic nanoparticles can dramatically affect their size and shape. As well as providing information about nanoparticle growth mechanisms, the technique could find a use in tailoring nanoparticles for specific applications.
