The circuit board reinvented
Abstract:
Developers are working on techniques to speed up the component-making process. They involve printing components, just as an inkjet printer prints onto paper. Filled with what is termed nano-particle ink the component printers will spray circuit designs on to sheets of plastic, and because the particles are conductive, the patterns will form electronic circuits. Although it is unlikely you'll be able to print your own Pentium 4 chip, the technique could make it relatively easy to create simple circuits and components for computers and other electronics devices.
