October 8th, 2003
Abstract:
Today's computers shunt information among three elements: processors that manipulate information to carry out computations, random access memory (RAM) chips that retrieve information quickly, and magnetic disk drives that store information while the computer is off. Researchers from the Paul Drude Institute for Solid-State Electronics in Germany have shown that it is also possible to use magnetic random access memory for computation. (more on earlier story)
