Buckyball-polymer mix handles light a treat
Abstract:
Researchers from the University of Toronto and Carleton University in Canada have incorporated C60 molecules, or buckyballs, into a cross-linked polymer to make a film with excellent nonlinear optical properties. The material could be suitable for use with infrared light signals in telecoms devices.
