Molecular motors take DNA to the end of its tether

Abstract:
DNA has been advertised as an ideal 'programmable' construction material for building nanostructures. But linking DNA strands into arbitrary structures may require mechanical manipulation, which could be slow and fiddly. Researchers in Germany have now shown how DNA can be moved around and straightened out on a surface using natural motor proteins.
