Taking nano temperatures
Abstract:
Scientists from the University of California, Santa Barbara, US, have used a superconductor-insulator-normal metal (SIN) tunnel junction as a nanoscale thermometer. Ultimately, the device could have applications in detecting single photons of far-infrared radiation.
