Titanium nanoparticles speed up hydrogen storage

Abstract:
Scientists from the Max-Planck-Institute for Coal Research have improved the hydrogen-storage capacity and hydrogenation rate of sodium aluminium hydrides by doping them with titanium nanoparticles. The technique increased the material's hydrogenation speed by a factor of 40, bringing the time needed for hydrogenation down to around 15 minutes.
