DNA brings biomolecular electronic devices to life
Abstract:
Scientists at the universities of Lecce and Bologna in Italy have used a modified DNA base as the foundation for an electronic device. The researchers made a prototype field-effect transistor from a deoxyguanosine derivative, and the device had a maximum voltage gain of 0.76, a figure the scientists claim is higher than reported for other molecular devices.
