Nanoporous metal acts like a ceramic
Abstract:
Scientists from Germany and Austria have made a nanoporous metal that can behave like a ceramic. The metal acted in a similar way to a piezoceramic, undergoing a reversible strain of around 0.15% on application of an external voltage.
