Home > Press > Iran Nano 2012 Exhibit Shows Ineffectiveness of Sanctions against Iran
Abstract:
The CEO of enablingMNT (www.enablingmnt.com), Henne van Heeren, from the Netherlands underlined that the Iran Nano 2012 festival and exhibition, held in Tehran early October, showed the ineffectiveness of the international and unilateral sanctions against Iran.
"Sanctions have brought you a good opportunity to grow your own local knowledge and to produce your products according to the needs of your market," Heeren stated during the first specialized nanotechnology commercialization forum.
He elaborated on the most important problems of the commercialization of nanotechnology, and said, "There's a non-nanotechnology based substitute for most of the products. So you have to prepare a least opportunity for your products. And it's a very big problem. The substitute products have been presented to the market for years and they're known to the customers. Regulations are the second problem. You have to prove that your product has the required quality and it is harmless. It takes a lot of time to solve these problems. Therefore, taking a product to the market requires much time and energy."
On the second day of Iran Nano Forum, Heeren presented his lecture under the title "Commercialization of Products based on Microfluid Technology; where does this industry end up?".
Asked about the Forum and Iran Nano Festival, he stated, "The Forum was perfect. The quality of the seminars impressed me, and I really enjoyed them. The Festival was very good too. I was surprised by the high number of the companies that presented new ideas about the products and had turned their knowledge to industry in Iran Nano 2012 Exhibition."
"Sanctions have given a good opportunity to Iran to grow its own local knowledge and to produce its products according to the needs of its market. When the sanctions are nullified, the situation will be worse because Iran should compete with more countries. But it can implement its projects and develop its local knowledge by that time," he continued.
