Abstract:
Synkera Technologies, Inc., founded in 2003, is a leading nanotechnology company focusing on gas detection, filtration, separation and support products for the air quality, bio and life sciences and clean technology markets, will be attending the forthcoming Pittsburgh Conference (Pittcon) 2012 in Orlando, Florida, March 11 - 15th.
New products for 2012, all utilizing Sykera's nanostructured alumina ceramic technology platform, are UniKera™ Grids and Discs, UniKera™ Ultrafiltration Membranes and UniKera™ and UniKera™ UF Membrane Sample Packs.
UniKera™ Grids and Discs for microscopy reduces specimen preparation time and provides higher image quality for applications in cell biology, biophysics and materials science. Features , include wafer-style packaging, high thermal and chemical resistance, optically transparent with minimal fluorescence background, reduced beam-induced movement, biocompatible, non-toxic, hydrophilic, extreme temperature capable, and flexible design and window size. Discs are 3mm in diameter and 50microns thick. Grids are standard 200 mesh, with integrated 100 nanometer thin film.
UniKera™ UF Membranes are characterized by high pore density, a thin active layer and large-diameter pores in the support layer, enable high fluid permeance. As a result, membranes exhibit sharp and controllable molecular weight cut-off and high flux. These membranes have application in fractioning proteins and water-soluble polymers.
The UniKera™ Membrane Sample Pack consists of three (each) 18, 35, 55, 80, 100 and 150 nanometer pore diameter, 50 micron thick, 13mm diameter membrane discs, or three (each) 18, 35, 55, 80, 100 nanometer pore diameter, 50 micron thick, 10mm by 10mm square membranes.
The UniKera™ UF Membrane Sample Pack consists of three (each) 3, 5, 8, 13, 18 and 35 nanometer pore diameter active layer, 150 nanometer pore diameter support layer, 50 microns thick, 13mm diameter membrane discs.
