Iran to Set Up "DiploTech" Website to Increase Contacts with Expatriates

Tehran, Iran | Posted on September 16th, 2011

Addressing a group of Iranian thinkers, elites, professors, businessmen and university students residing in Austria, Iranian Vice-President for Science and Technology Nasrin Soltankhah said that "DiploTech" is a website of technology diplomacy.

"Creation of the diploTech is a step towards establishing contacts and effective use of mutual services between Science and Technology Department, the National Foundation of Elites and Iranian experts and elites living abroad," Soltankhah, who also presides over the National Foundation of Elites, stated.

She said that technology provides good grounds for activities of Iranian expatriates, and called on the Iranian elites living outside the country to use every possibility to deepen the relations between Tehran and Vienna.

Iran is the leading Muslim country in the field of nanotechnology, while standing among the 15 top nations in the world.

"We rank first in the production of nanotechnology and nanoscience in the region and the Muslim world and we have gained the 14th standing among the world countries," Soltankhah said in October.

Soltankhah also announced that Iran is among the only three world countries which have compiled a National Nanotechnology Plan.
