Abstract:
Iran's fourth National Nanotechnology Standard entitled 'Evaluation of nanoparticles' effect on colonization of granulocyte macrophage in mice-code of practices' was published on the official webpage of the Institute of Standards and Industrial Research of Iran.

Iran's 4th National Nanotechnology Standard Published

Tehran, Iran | Posted on July 28th, 2011

The Standard had been approved in the 276th gathering of the national subcommittee on microbiology before.

The purpose for formulation of such a standard code was to provide a test procedure for quantitatively assessing the effect of nanoparticle-contained solutions on formation of granulocyte macrophage colonies. In fact, the code is an essential for preclinical in vivo description/characterization of nanopaticles prepared for medical uses.

It is worthwhile to mention that, in course of devising Iran's national standards, the international standard documents are used if they are available; otherwise the latest scientific/technological world literature is used as the source.

The Institute of Standards and Industrial Research of Iran is one of the main members in International Organization for Standardization (ISO), International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), International Organization of Legal Metrology (OIML) and serves as the only Iranian agent in Codex Alimentarius Commission (CAC).
